The Washington County Chapter plans to hold our Youth Fishing Derby on Saturday May 8. Sign ups will start at 8:00 am in the Clubhouse and fishing will begin at 9:00 am. All children will receive a ticket to claim a prize at the Clubhouse at 12:00 noon. A lunch will be served prior to the drawing.
Our pond is located at the lower gate across from the FOP and the same entrance as the pistol range. All BASS and Crappie are catch and release. You will find Blue Gil, Crappie and we stock with Rainbow Trout twice in the spring for our youth fishing rodeo. This year we had 46 children and young ladies and men enjoy a beautiful day of fishing. We concluded our day at the clubhouse with hotdogs, chips, soda and all the fixings. And to top it off we had a cake. All participants were given a raffle ticket and when their number was called they were able to pick a prize off the table. We remind all members that Maryland DNR fishing license are required and all laws apply. You must display your range badge or membership card at all times while using the pond. And again all BASS and Crappie are catch and release.
Trash receptacles are provided on both sides of the pond please place all your trash and broken line in the container.
